Dorm 1: This room is occupied by two males who have decided to decorate the room with several band posters, three of which are shown above. The occupants in this room decided to decorate the room with bands that interest them to possibly display to visitors who could potentially share an interest with them. On the other side of their room, there are three other posters of the same bands but vary in appearance. While it is not pictured, they have lined their entire dorm with a carpet to make the room feel more comfortable and home-like.

Dorm 2: This is my CA's room, who has decided to decorate her side of the room with a poster of her favorite movie, pictures of herself with family and friends, as well as several butterfly wall decorations. Similar to the first dorm, the poster was possibly hung to show her interests off to those that come to visit the room. The pictures on the wall could have been put up to show people who come to the room a little more about her, such as who she prefers to spend time with. The butterflies on her wall are something that I always hear her being complemented on, probably serve the purpose of making the room look more interesting and help keep the walls from looking so bleak.

Dorm 3: This my desk in the dorm. On my desk, the decorations are limited to only one photo that can barely be seen next to my mirror, a party hat when I was celebrating a friend's birthday, and a flameless candle shaped like a teapot. In general, I don't really like to decorate my dorm, I don't spend a lot of time to myself in the room and don't see the point in spending money on such decorations. Instead, on my desk are cleaning supplies, school supplies, snacks, makeup and jewelry. Another reason as to why this space lacks decoration is because I feel that if I did have decorations, I feel that it would either take up necessary space or distract me when I'm trying to do school work.

What does the data suggest about what it means to be a college student?
The data implies that college students weigh time with friends and time dedicated to studying and homework almost equally, showing where some student's priorities lie in a balance between friendship and maintaining grades. The time the students spend with friends could also be related to how much one student's room is decorated, the more time they devote to social activity they are more likely to have a room that is nicely decorated. The data also suggests that not many students have, or choose to have time to themselves. This could be because it is rare that someone living in the dorms is rarely truly alone due to having a roommate, and being around people all the time may be more enjoyable then spending time alone.
